In the 1st Chapter of John,
Jesus commends Nathanael for being
an authentic Israelite.
Nathanael was usually to be found
under a fig tree, which meant that
prayed and read the Word of God often.
Jesus promised Nathanael if he continued
reading scripture,
he would "see heaven open"! John 1:51
