Be Festive Every Day

Have you ever felt like you're just going through the motions?  Don't remember when you've last felt really excited?  In a rut and just want to crawl under a log?  Feel sleepy or lazy all the time?  Well if you answered yes to even one of those questions, this article is for YOU!  We want you to be FESTIVE this month!

Here's a thought.  Each moment is irreplaceable.  You can never get that moment back.  So does it mean we have to do a dance of joy every second of the day?  Not if you don't want to end up in an institution.  It's just a different approach that you might want to adapt to make your days a bit more special.

Celebrate People
Are you spending too much time online?  (It's okay, you're reading us!)  Honestly now do we spend more time on the computer than with our family?  Do we relate to them offline more than online?  Studies show that people who spend too much time on the internet tend to lose track of time, get alienated from others and have more health risks due to sitting long hours.  Computers can be replaced.  People can't.

Take the time instead to partayyyyy!!!

Celebrate by having fun with family and friends!  Have a super fun night - watch a movie together.  Here's an idea... if you're watching a movie filmed in Japan, then eat sushi while watching!  If it has scenes from Europe get out the wine and cheese!

We have the perfect opportunity to have some quality time this May 11 (Sunday) at we will honor mothers!. Take the time to recall how your much your mom means to you. Tell her you love her.  For the shy types, write your appreciation down on a greeting card.

We also want to say "Thank You" to Nurses we have known this May 12.  They are the ones who care for us when we need the most care.

We don't need a special occasion to say we care.  Celebrating people means lending them some space in your thoughts today.  What do the people around you need?  What nice surprise can you give them today?

"Love your neighbor as yourself." - Mark 12:31

Celebrate You
"The one thing that you have that nobody else has is you. Your voice, your mind, your story, your vision. So write and draw and build and play and dance and live as only you can." - Neil Gaiman

Do you know anyone else on the planet who looks like you, talks like you and does things well like you?  A twin would come close but still have very distinct differences.  It's safe to say that you are a uniquely precious being and there is only one of you!

Celebrate Joy
"Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, "The LORD has done great things for them."  - Psalm 126:2

Joy is in us and all around us.  It is in the colors of the rainbow, the drops of rain and the leaves of the trees.  Everything in nature breathes life, energy and ultimately joy.

We could be in the midst of trying times or difficult circumstances but that doesn't mean we can't have joy.  It takes a very special set of eyes to see what joys may be found in the moment, no matter how imperfect that moment is.

What is true is that you are alive and that is a gift.  Celebrate the joy of life by singing, smiling or jumping even if it is only in your heart.  Laugh even when you don't feel like it and later on that laugh will turn into a genuine one (laughter therapy).

Those who look to Him are radiant with joy..." Psalm 34:5
