Leap of Faith in the Year 2016

Some start the year by opening all their doors, wallets and drawers so the good vibes would come in.  Some eat a bowl of noodles to ensure long life.  Some wear polka dots and eat round fruits to have more money cause coins are round.  Some do it for fun and some seriously believe in these superstitions.

Is there something we can do that will certainly make an impact on our year?

We are well into 2016 and slowly easing back into our day to day routines but we still have that fresh new feeling that comes with the coming of a brand new season and a new phase in our lives.  If we haven't thought about doing something new to reign the new year in, it's not too late!

We know a family that begins their dinner discussions with "high-low?" meaning what were the high points of your day - and what were the low points?

We can also review 2015 in a similar way.

We can start by listing down in our journal all the major blessings we could think of.  Get your 2015 planner or diary to remember the most significant moments.

We can then express our gratitude to God for all of these and also the people around us who have had a big part in all of these blessings.

And then we can think about the low points in our year - but instead of sadness, regrets, and other negative emotions, we can think of these things with a leap of faith.

A leap of faith is defined as
"an act of believing in or attempting something whose existence or outcome cannot be proved."

To see the circumstances in our lives with a leap of faith is to believe that everything happens for a purpose - to make us stronger, to help our souls mature and grow, to give us wisdom to help others.

These things can also be viewed from an eternal perspective such as the death of a loved one.  We can view death like that of a caterpillar turning into a butterfly.

"What the caterpillar calls the end of the world, the Master calls a butterfly." - Richard Bach

Death, for us who believe, is only the birth of a new life.

A leap of faith is also how we can view the year ahead.  To leap is to dream big, to know that anything is possible for those who believe.  To leap is to "put out into the deep" and "walk on the water!"  To leap is to believe in miracles!

Is there something you have always wanted to do?  Go back to school?  Start a new business?  Say sorry?  Forgive?\
Say a silent prayer and make the leap!
