The eldest of the five siblings, Patsy started the unique brown paper stationery line for papemelroti at a time when being environment-friendly was not as popular as it is now.

patsy's.JPG (3717 bytes)Today, she works full time for papemelroti, and continues to take care of the stationery line. A graduate of Interior Design from the University of the Philippines, Patsy describes herself as a frustrated artist because she wants to have more time for design but is often busy with more practical office work.

Her favorite techniques are collage and crayola etching, which she says are most forgiving of mistakes. To read up on a ministry close to Patsy's heart, click here.

Peggy is a graduate of Architecture from the University of the Philippines. Although she still does some architectural design, most of the time she does designs for papemelroti.

One of her favorite themes is friendship and she likes including family and friends in her illustrations for gift wrappers and stationery. Peggy also sculpts originals for figurines, picture frames, and other decorative accessories. Her "Elyse" figurine is named after her daughter.

Meldy, a graduate of Business Management from the University of the Philippines, is the obvious choice for managing the papemelroti branches. But she also does a lot of product development and she has a talent for making products from whatever raw materials are on hand.

Meldy specializes in sculpting whimsical figures in a childlike style. Her "Mark" and "Isabel" figurines are named after her children.

A graduate of Fine Arts from the University of the Philippines, Robert is an award winning graphic designer.  He is a founding member of Illustrador ng Kabataan (INK), an organization of children’s book illustrators.

His varied projects include design and illustration for books, magazines, and advertisements as well as designs for shopping malls, retail shops and entertainment centers like Eureka at SM Mega Mall.

For papemelroti, Robert makes designs for stationery, bags, figurines and a variety of decorative accessories, often using his popular "Official" characters and Filipiniana themes.  He was once the host of the popular television show "Art Is-Kool" on Channel 7, a children's art workshop on TV and formerly one of the correspondents for "The Probe Team" with Che Che Lazaro on Channel 2.

The youngest in the family, Tina started "working" with papemelroti when she was 7 years old. At that time, she was already gift wrapping for customers, using the floor as her table because the counter was too high for her to reach.

Today, she makes designs for a wide range of products, making illustrations for the stationery line, small book series and home decor. She also loves to create her own fonts, does original poetry and music.  Tina is in charge of the company's e-Business and also designs the papemelroti seasonal displays.

"Design is intelligence made visible." This quote by Alina Wheeler pretty much sums up Elyse's design philosophy. She believes that there is power in a simple design with a strong message. A magna cum laude Fine Arts graduate of the University of the Philippines, Elyse is an extremely talented young lady. Having traveled to more than 20 countries (and counting), she loves experiencing different cultures and photographing her adventures.

Her designs include her photographs from around the world as she uses these as a backdrop for positive messages and bible passages. When she reads something that speaks to her, it inspires her to share it with others through a product.

She spends most of her days doing what she loves doing - Product design, instagramming (personal and for papemelroti), probono design work and spending time with her cats and friends.

She believes that anyone has the tools to be a photographer and artist, and that one can create almost anything with passion and a smart phone!

Josh is currently in college taking up Computer Science at the University of the Philippines.  This young, minimalist designer gets his inspiration from anything he sees and experiences.

He has a variety of styles in the products he's designed from handmade typography to modern, linear themes. His designs convey a love of travel and adventure, and if he could, he would definitely hike up a mountain or explore some cave to his last day on earth.

His current favorites are the Harry Potter book series and bands like Passion Pit and Two Door Cinema Club.

Isabel, despite being the youngest in the newest batch of papemelroti designers, has what she calls a simplistic design style that is rapidly catching the eye of the shoppers.

Even if she is a busy college freshman, she greatly values family time and loves spending time with them at the beach. She spends her free time drawing and designing, listening to her favorite music by Coldplay, Beach House, Band of Horses or maybe re-reading her old favorite, the classic 20 Thousand Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne.

She has an advocacy for spreading awareness about Dyslexia and ADHD
and finds true happiness in life by growing in her faith and relationship with God.
